Cold and Hot and Cold again

We spent our 2nd wedding anniversary back in Austin (the city where we met 💖). My husband told me before we got married “I’m not a card guy. Don’t expect me to buy you cards”. So, what do I find on the coffee pot the morning of our anniversary? Only the fanciest card in the world that he sneakily bought months ago.

From Austin we made a quick trip home, then up to Nebraska to teach on the historic Ft. Omaha campus. The week after Omaha was canceled, so we made a little vacation out of it! We visited the Omaha Zoo and saw their desert dome:

From Omaha we drove through Jefferson City, MO and visited the Capitol building. After JC, we spent a few days in St. Louis. We saw the Gateway Arch, had a 2-hour dinner cruise on a steamboat on the Mississippi River, and saw the Cardinals get absolutely stomped at a baseball game!

We spent a windy week in Marion, Illinois and then escaped to Florida the day before the tornados hit Nebraska, Kansas, and Illinois!!

This is our first time in Florida together and we’re staying in a cute little Air BnB. We even busted out the grill and made s’mores!
