There's no business like show business

States Visited: Florida Nebraska Texas (Japan) Florida New Jersey

We spent a week in Orlando, right across the street from Universal Studios. We went to the Pirate Dinner Show to see how it compares to Pirate's Voyage in Pigeon Forge. The verdict was that Dolly does it better, but this was pretty good too.

After Orlando we drove to Omaha, NE for Michael to teach at the famous Offut Airfield. He drove in every day and I hung out at the hotel (boringgggg) but still cool that Michael got to go. He said he drove by the hangar where they kept the planes that dropped the atomic bombs on Japan in WW2.

While in Omaha, we went to see the stage production of Mary Poppins. For an community theater group, they were really good!

That Friday we hopped in the car and drove from Omaha to Dallas. Saturday morning we went to DFW Airport and flew back to Tokyo. We visited Kyoto, Shigaraki, Nara, Hammatsu, Kakegawa, and Tokyo. We painted Tanuki figures, toured the Yamaha piano factory, fed the deer in Nara Park, and saw the sumo wrestling show in Ginza. Kind of a crazy trip considering how tired we were (and are), but lots of fun! Gotta put all those Japanese lessons to good use!

Came home to Boerne for a week, in time to see the torrential rain fill up the creek to almost flood levels, then out to Florida (Crestview) and New Jersey.
