Back in the van with my favorite man <3

After a month of “where in the world am I going next?”, Michael and I successfully got to spend the 4th of July together with my family! We followed the classic Boerne tradition of “we’ll do absolutely anything to avoid the traffic at the county fairgrounds” and watched the fireworks on the parking lot of the local nursing home.

Later that week, Mike and I took the family to the shooting range. My sister had never fired a gun before, and my brother had last gone shooting as a wee laddie, so it was a cool new experience for them.

We visited Northshore Community College in Greensburg, LA. They teach nursing, veterinary science, welding, and a few others. I can’t say I know which class this guy belongs to though:

When I say I jumped out of my skin…

After two extremely hot weeks in Louisiana, we made the 1,700 mile drive up to New Jersey. It was great to see the NJ fam, but I would be a liar if I said Suki wasn’t my favorite part of the trip. Behold, the chonk:

So, in July we were in Boerne, Tx; Lake Charles LA; Greensburg, LA; Boerne, Fort Worth, Abilene, and Edison, NJ. Not too shabby, and at least it’s cooler in the Big Apple!!
