We started September home in Boerne. I even got to break out the fiber splicer and do a little work with Big Kerry in San Antonio. Happy to report that my certified fiber optic technician skills are still sharp. Even Michael was impressed.

We flew back to Seattle for our second ever class in Bellevue and got a delicious preview of some fall weather. Gotta say, I'm a Texas girl through and through but I can definitely see the appeal of the Pacific Northwest.

My coffee date. Look how cute he is <3

We flew home Saturday, and Sunday we packed up and drove over to Baytown for the week. Our class in Tennessee canceled, so we came right back home. We hung out at the house in our pajamas and finally put together our souvenir miniatures we brought back from Japan in April. We were beginning to think we would have to take another trip to Japan before we got the pictures and souvenirs from the first trip squared away!

After our little mini stay-cation we headed back to New Orleans for the second time this year for a class at Nunez Community College. We enjoy being at the Nunez campus, except for the fact that they keep the library (my temporary office) two degrees warmer than an industrial refrigerator. It's hard to talk on the phone when my teeth are chattering!!

From Nunez, we drove up to Scottsboro, AL. A little town on the banks of the Tennessee river, it's one of our favorite places to stay. Mountain views, Southern hospitality and a pirate ship; what else could you ask for?

Next month it looks like Tennessee for the Rauchs together, then I come home for a few weeks while Michael goes to my two favorite campuses (Santa Fe and Taos, NM) on his own. So unfair. 😭
